How to use the pulse oximeter
1. Pick it up like a clothespin and clip it to your fingertip. (Put your finger in to the area illuminated by the inner red light.)
2. Some models will automatically power on and start measuring after the finger is inserted into the fixation, but some models need to press a button to start measuring after the finger is placed, so please read the instruction manual first.
3. After 20~30 seconds, please confirm the blood oxygen saturation value detected on the display.
Procedures and Precautions for Using a Pulse Oximeter
1. Wash your hands before using the pulse oximeter. If your hands are not warm enough, You can place your hands on your chest for a few minutes.
2. Start the pulse oximeter.
3. Clip the pulse oximeter to your index or middle
There should be no nail polish or false nails.
Read the displayed value after stabilization and record the readings (blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate).
5. Most people have an SpO2 of 95% or above.
6. If both readings are at or below 94% (after a few breaths and on other fingers), You need to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
7. If your SpO2 is consistently at or below 92%, go to the emergency room.
